THE NLC BID TEAM
PHILIP STITES
It all begins with an idea. I have been a business owner in this neighborhood for 30 years. As a founding member of the La Cienega Design Quarter established in 2008, myself and business owners Judy Hoffman, Lee Stanton, Gerry Bross looked to unify and promote member businesses.
This effort was intended to expand into a Business Improvement District transforming the neighborhood and unifying all businesses. The Vision included leveraging the neighborhood’s rich history in Decorative Arts and Interior design while supporting and recruiting businesses in fashion, hospitality, and restaurants. The effort to form the BID has taken 8 years. With many voices we have built a strong coalition of stake holders and organizations with experience in building successful BIDS. We have support from the City of Los Angeles and our Council Members office. The momentum is on our side even during these unprecedented times.
Over the next few months, we look forward to speaking with every property and business owner to gather support and feedback for this vision of the future. By unifying the neighborhood, we envision a pedestrian-oriented, beautifully landscaped and activated street of the future.
JUSTIN SIPLIN
Justin Siplin joined the BID effort in 2019 as the lead project manager tasked with fast tracking organizational development. Understanding the scope and potential future of the Neighborhood Justin recruited a group of Industry leading organizations who specialize in various aspects of BID development. The overall strategy remains building long term partnerships that become future stake-holders in the Vision.
